Still feeling the effects of last year’s cyclones?
You’re not alone. A Wairarapa Recovery Office (WRO) survey has found that 75% of respondents still had significant property, financial, social or wellbeing impacts.
WRO coordinates disaster recovery efforts across the three Wairarapa district councils and works with council teams and other agencies on ways to support people and communities still impacted by the cyclones.
If you, your family or your business still needs support:
• Contact Rural Support Trust on 0800 787 254.
• Talk to your rural banker, financial advisor or accountant.
• Free call or text 1737 anytime to talk to a trained counsellor.
• Talk to your doctor or medical centre health improvement practitioner, or contact Practice Plus for after hours medical advice at practiceplus.nz
Reach out for help if you need it.

Cyclone recovery ongoing needs survey – please take part
The Wairarapa Recovery Office is running a survey on the ongoing impact of Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle for people, whānau, businesses and communities in Wairarapa.
Information from the survey will help ensure future support and resources are targeted at the areas of most need in our region.
If you were impacted by the cyclones, please complete the survey by the closing date of Friday 31 May. It should take less than 10 minutes to do.
Your input will help everyone involved in cyclone recovery to provide assistance in the most useful and meaningful way.
You can also apply through the survey for help to repair cyclone damage to fences and dams.
Please share this with your neighbours and others you know who were impacted.
Wairarapa Recovery Office was established after last year’s extreme weather events to coordinate recovery efforts across the three Wairarapa district councils.
