Far from the glamorous life of TV, it was bunk beds, beanies and gumboot tea for Breakfast weatherman Sam Wallace. Sam roughed it overnight to help us paint Dalys Clearing Hut – pitching in alongside the 1st Tauranga Scout Group, the Kaimai Ramblers Tramping Group & the leggy DOC rangers. Built in 1975, by our mates from the Jaycees Brian, Alistair & Dick, Daly’s Clearing Hut is a classic 16 bunk hut in Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park, Tauranga.
