Maungaturoto Primary School PTA

Maungaturoto Primary School PTA For families and friends of Maungaturoto Primary School to find out how they can help with fundraisi President - Pepe Ewen

Maungaturoto Primary School PTA is a page for communicating events, fundraising information and other MPS PTA information for our local community. The main role of the PTA is fundraising and supporting school activities. The PTA is a really great way for parents and caregivers to meet others, particularly those who are new to the area of school. Through the year there are many fundraising activiti

es the PTA is involved in. All the funds raised go back into the school to ensure we are giving our children the best possible experience and education. This is a PTA page, not a school page, please refer to the school website www.maungaturoto.school.nz for school info & newsletters etc.

Vehicles on Our School Grounds:

Over the past month we have had utes and motorbikes on our fields. These vehicles have left marks and done some damage. Once wet weather sets in, there is potential for a lot more damage. Our cameras have helped identify some of these people, and we will be contacting them directly. If this behaviour continues we will be naming and shaming through social media. At the moment we are having conversations on whether we need to lock access to our school out of school hours. This means we would put chains up on our Hurndell Street driveway, and lock the gates from Gorge Road. We are reluctant to do this, as so many people enjoy and respect our facilities, however if we continue having this unacceptable behaviour, we will not have a choice. We are asking our whole community to let us know if they see anyone riding or driving on our fields, or talk to these people directly and remind them that no unauthorised vehicles are allowed on the fields. If you do see someone and don't want to approach them, please take a note of the date and time and let us know. This means it is easy for us to find what we need on the cameras.

If we all work together, we will be able to keep our school, a great facility for our whole community.
