We are continuing to support civil defence in the areas affected by flooding, and most particularly in Oamaru this morning.

Please stay up to date with MetService New Zealand forecasts and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi - Otago & Southland for your area and anywhere you are travelling. Your local council will have updates on local road closures.

Yesterday Milton hosted the 2026 Otago Southland Road Crash Rescue competition.

Five brigades from across Otago and Southland competed with a guest team from Whitianga coming down from the North Island as a guest sixth team.

Official results will be published by Otago Southland Provincial Fire Brigades Association

A massive thanks to all the volunteers who donated their time, people that donated cars, machinery and equipment to make it all happen. You made this all possible!

May 9th Road Crash Rescue is going to held in Milton. Please come along and support the Milton Volunteer Fire Brigade!

Road Crash Rescue ! !

the date of the 2026 OSPFBA Road Crash Rescue Challenge to be held in Milton is now Saturday May 9th.

Entries will be out as soon as possible once a couple of things are finalised with the Hosts. All further details will be with the entries.

The Assn would like to acknowledge the role of Region Manager Brendan Nally and a couple of his Senior Management Team for coming to the party when issues securing certain equipment arose. The full thanks that is due to them will come in due course, but we would like to take this chance to offer our appreciation too.
