Criminology in action! Our students have been busy exploring the justice system firsthand. From observing live proceedings at the Tauranga Courthouse to dusting for fingerprints and analysing a mock crime scene, it’s been an action-packed few weeks.

A huge thank you to Tom Coyle MNZM for leading an incredible forensic workshop, and also to MMC Alumani and Senior Associate Lawyer Rob Hebden for sharing his invaluable legal and law enforcement insights with our future criminologists!

Year 13 Media Studies Wellington trip 🎬✨

Such a cool few days getting to see behind the scenes of different parts of the film and media industry. At Weta Workshop, students learnt how to make creatures out of plasticine/oil clay and toured the workshop to see loads of movie props, including the giant King Kong head.

They also visited the historic Roxy Cinema for dinner, a Q&A with one of the workers there, and watched The Devil Wears Prada 2! Another highlight was visiting the NZ Classification Office to learn how films and TV get their age ratings, doing themed escape rooms, and seeing the RNZ news department in action.

Super cool opportunity for these students and great to experience so many different sides of the industry! Shoutout to Diana Hopkinson for these awesome photos 📷
