When I first had the idea for HERstory, I had no idea what it would become.
It was simply one idea. One show. One brave step.
A belief that ordinary people sharing extraordinary stories could make others feel less alone.
Fast-forward to today, and we're about to hold our sixth HERstory.
It's become a much-loved Nelson event, and this year, incredibly, we're almost sold out. (and we still have five weeks to go)
Thank you, so so much.
Thank you to every speaker who has bravely shared their story.
Thank you to every audience member who has bought a ticket,
laughed, cried, applauded and left carrying a little more hope.
But when the theatre lights go down, the stories don't stop.
Every day, right here in Nelson, someone walks through the doors of the Nelson Women's Centre carrying a story they never imagined they'd be living.
The Women's Centre quietly meets those stories with kindness, practical support and hope.
HERstory gives people a voice.
The Nelson Women's Centre helps people find the strength to write their next chapter.
This year, I'd love to give something back.
If HERstory has ever touched your heart, if you've ever left the theatre feeling less alone, I'd love you to consider donating through the Nelson Women's Centre Givealittle page.
Whether it's the price of a coffee or something more, every donation helps ensure someone else has somewhere safe to turn when they need it most.
Because stories don't just inspire us.
Sometimes they change a life.
Let's keep the story going.
