🚧Contractors are working on the Van Diemen Street connection to Grampians Reserve.

The track is expected to be closed for around six weeks while this work is completed. Please use an alternative route to access the Grampians during this time.

The August 2022 weather event, and subsequent weather events, highlighted that the existing stormwater intake at the base of the track is undersized. This track was also used as an access point for the multiple slip projects on the Grampians.

With those slip repairs and track works now complete, the final step is to upgrade and repair the Van Diemen St track connection.

🌟 New long-life dog registration tags

Council is moving to a long-life tag system in 2026.

That means that this year, 2026, will be the last time we issue a tag when an owner renews their dog’s registration.

The tag a dog owner receives in 2026 will remain valid year after year, as long as the registration is kept current.

⚠️Traffic management next week – Paru Paru Road/Halifax Street/Rutherford Street intersection ⚠️

Next week (from Monday 8 June), contractors will be working at the Paru Paru Road, Halifax Street and Rutherford Street intersection.

This work will require a lane closure on Halifax Street.

As a result, all eastbound traffic travelling from Haven Road will be reduced to one lane.

Access to Paru Paru Road, Halifax Street East and Rutherford Street will be maintained, however delays and congestion are expected. Motorists are encouraged to use SH6 and Trafalgar Street where possible when travelling into the city.

Thank you for your patience while we complete this important infrastructure upgrade.
