Energy Skills Aotearoa is the governing body for this programme and it is always so rewarding to see students undertake this programme and gain employment into our sector. Way to go Summer! If you are wanting an interesting, diverse and progressive career in the energy sector, check out the Process Operations Training programme at WITT. The training runs for 16 weeks with most of this based onsite at energy companies with a small classroom component at WITT.

At 19, Summer Price has a qualification under her belt and has stepped into a career in the energy sector as a Trainee Operator at Beach Energy.

Fantastic to have the Green School participate with us this year - congratulations on winning the Beach Energy Newcomer School of the year.

We're celebrating at Green School New Zealand as our incredible young learners marked their debut at the Taranaki Primary Science and Engineering Fair with a spectacular showcase of talent and innovation!

Supported by their teachers and families, our middle and upper primary students entered the fair, hosted at the Devon Hotel, with projects that reflected not just hard work but also a high standard of scientific thought and engineering prowess. Our commitment to REAL learning — hands-on and experiential — was evident in each entry and resonated with the spirit of the event.

We’re excited to announce that not only did we receive the Newcomer School Award, recognising our fresh and impactful contribution, but our very own Amos, at just 9 years of age, took home 3rd prize for Best Design - Technical for Taranaki with his innovative sustainable remote-control car cover.

An enormous thanks to EnergySkills NZ for their fantastic organisation of this enriching event and a special shout-out to Sheree Long for facilitating our participation. This event was more than a competition; it was a celebration of young minds pushing boundaries, understanding the world, and contributing to our community’s future. 💡

Entries close for the Science Fair on 24 September - Please email Sheree @ [email protected] to register for the fair. We just need to know the student name, what category they will register in (science or engineering) and what school they are at.
