Summerland Primary School: a playground surface built to last

A worn play area costs a school twice: in lost play time, and in constant upkeep on a fixed budget. Loose fill scatters and thins exactly where children land, and turf that is not built for heavy daily use packs down, wears thin, and holds water in the high traffic zones.

Summerland Primary School in Henderson, Auckland, has replaced its tired surfacing with two engineered surfaces that take heavy daily use and stay usable all year round.

We can't wait to start working on this amazing project by the New Plymouth District Council and Taranaki Foundation Kāwaroa Park.

A refreshed space for the kids at Hillview Christian School in Christchurch – that's what you can see in this recently completed project by our team.

An amazing choice of colours integrates the equipment setup with floor games, where the little ones can immerse in a new level of fun! We're sure the kids at the school are as excited as we are about this project!

Te Kapua Park in Tūrangi won two awards at the Resene NZILA Awards 2024.

We are honoured to have been part of this process, where our team collaborated on the manufacturing and installing the remarkable surface design utilising our top quality TPV Rosehill wet pour rubber.

This playground was designed by Bespoke Landscape Architects in collaboration with the local community to encapsulate their story and history, thereby enhancing the play value of this destination park.

It is now a space where this and future generations can enjoy fantastic play experiences.

🎉 We're thrilled to announce that Hayman Park has won the 2024 Resene NZILA Awards for Play Spaces Excellence!

NumatREC team played a key role in bringing this vibrant surface design to life. Our team created several huge custom pieces long using top-quality TPV Rosehill, making this destination playground stand out with its colorful and engaging surface.

As the judges remarked: "The bright, colourful scheme reflected on ground planes and play elements provides joyful and lively areas for the enjoyment of children of all ages and abilities."
