What a beautiful night celebrating Pasifika music with my Auckland Council colleagues at the Pacific Music Awards.

It was an incredible showcase of talent from across the Pacific and across so many different musical genres. The passion, creativity, and excellence on display made for a truly special evening.

While there were many generous sponsors supporting the awards, it was also a reminder that resources are still stretched, with some categories remaining unsponsored. The message was clear: our artists need and deserve more support so they can continue sharing their gifts with our communities.

Congratulations to all the award winners, nominees, and performers. Thank you for sharing your talents and for making it such a memorable night.

Thanks to everyone who came along to tonight’s community meeting to share their thoughts on the future of the former Papatoetoe Post Office site.

Great be there in person with the deputy Chair Lehops V Hausia and members Sandeep Saini, Jeet Singh and Kushma Nair.

We were able to hear a wide range of ideas and perspectives from our community. Your feedback will help shape the conversation about what comes next for this important site in Old Papatoetoe.

Our Papatoetoe Pools will be getting upgraded next year to electrical heat pump system as part of the electrification programme. So will help protect our pools from boiler break downs and becoming a bit of nuisance for people.

We were there with staff from our local Ōtara schools and got to hear about the great work happening in collaboration with them. Councillor Lotu Fuli ForManukau and I also shared reflections on growing up locally and spoke about some of the beautiful work happening in our community.”

Great to be at the Ngati Otara - Otara Scorpion club this morning at the Men's Health event. Thank you kaumatua Christopher Pomare for the blessing and openning karakia. Thank you to Councillor Alf Filipaina the Patron of the club, our MC Brian Sagala for introducing us. Also to Councillor Lotu Fuli ForManukau, Otara-Papatoetoe Local board Deputy Chair Vi Lehops V Hausia and Li'amanaia Lorenzo Kaisara. Acknowledging Chairperson Tagaloa Willie Maea and the team for hosting us. Our local legend Brother Dee (Danny) for his leadership and advocacy for mens health, he also has a recently released song so please keep an eye out for it. To our many vendors and partner organisations for joining in today's event and making an awesome event for our community.

Late post. Completed our first business meeting sitting of the new Otara-Papatoetoe local board. We broke the record yet again of the longest board meeting, surpassing only our previous board meeting. It's definitely busy times!
