💖 WHAT A RIDE 💖
Back to the 80s is a wrap and honestly? We are still buzzing.
This production was everything we hoped it would be and so much more. Performing for our incredible Ōtorohanga audiences and community was the greatest privilege. You showed up in droves and we loved every single second of it. The young and the old, faces from the past and everything in between. This community never fails to show up and it means the absolute world. 🙏
To our tremendous cast... the weeks and weeks, hours and hours of hard work and rehearsals led to something truly special. You poured your hearts into every single performance and it showed. Keep believing in yourselves. Keep challenging yourselves. Don't be afraid to peek over the edge of your comfort zone because as you've just proven... the view from the other side is absolutely worth it. We are so proud of every single one of you. 🌟
To all our ringa wera 🤲 the hot hands behind the scenes who supported, contributed and helped make this show what it was. You know who you are. This doesn't happen without you and we are so grateful.
It takes a village to raise a production and Ōtorohanga? You are one heck of a village. 💛

Kia ora e te whānau

As we reach the end of Week 8, it is hard to believe that there are now only three weeks remaining in Term 2. The term has certainly flown by and there is still plenty happening around the College before we head into the holiday break.

A highlight of the week was the opening night of our College production, Back To The 80s, on Wednesday. The cast, crew, staff and volunteers did an outstanding job and it was wonderful to see so much support from our community. We have the final performance tonight and we look forward to welcoming those who are attending.

As we move into the final weeks of the term, we encourage all students to remain focused on their learning, attendance and assessment commitments. Every day counts and finishing the term strongly will set students up well for the remainder of the year.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and the College. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Kia ora e te whānau

There is a real sense of excitement building around the College as we head into the final weeks of the term. While classrooms remain focused on learning and achievement, there is also an unmistakable buzz in the air as students prepare to take to the stage for our College Production, Back to the 80s.

Months of rehearsals, choreography, music practice, set construction, costume preparation and behind-the-scenes planning are coming together for what promises to be an outstanding show. Productions are one of the special occasions where the talents, passions and commitment of our students shine brightly. They provide opportunities for young people to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, develop teamwork skills and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We warmly invite our whānau and wider community to join us for Back to the 80s on the 10th, 11th and 12th of June. Whether your child is performing on stage, working backstage, operating sound and lighting, or supporting the Production in another way, your presence means a great deal and helps celebrate the incredible effort that has gone into bringing the show to life.

As we move through the remainder of the term, I encourage our students to continue embracing every opportunity that comes their way. Success at College is about much more than academic results alone. It is found in the courage to audition for a role, the willingness to support a teammate, the determination to overcome challenges and the commitment to contribute positively to our community.

Thank you for the encouragement, support and partnership you provide. Together, we continue to create a College where students are challenged to learn, inspired to participate and empowered to succeed.

We look forward to seeing many of you at Back to the 80s and celebrating the remarkable talents of our students.

Wishing everyone a safe and restful weekend.
