Kia ora parents and whānau

We have reached the end of Week 7 already – the term is certainly moving quickly! With just three weeks remaining, there is plenty happening across the College as we head towards the end of Term 3.

It has been another busy and productive week, with our students continuing to make the most of the opportunities available to them both in and out of the classroom. It is always great to see our learners getting involved, supporting one another and representing Ōtorohanga College with pride.

There is certainly plenty happening over the next few weeks:

CAA exams will take place on 7, 8 and 10 September.

Teacher Only Day is on Wednesday 9 September. There will be no College for students on this day.

Derived Grade Examinations run from 14 - 21 September.

Year 7 and Year 8 Experience Day is on Wednesday 16 September. We are looking forward to welcoming our future learners to the College.

Maniapoto Secondary Schools Cultural Festival is on Thursday 24 September. We are looking forward to a fantastic day of celebration, culture and connection.

As we move into the final weeks of the term, we encourage students to stay focused, attend regularly and make the most of the learning opportunities ahead.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Ōtorohanga College and for the encouragement you give our students. Your support makes a real difference and is very much appreciated.

Ōtorohanga College is well represented in Tokoroa today with 8 teams battling it out and having a great day on court💪🏸

Awesome to see our players getting stuck in, competing hard and most importantly enjoying the game and supporting each other.

🌟 Her Move Activities Club visits Hopscotch🌟

Fresh from their Beattie Home visit, our Ōtorohanga College Her Move Activities Club were at it again, this time with the other end of the age group and our wonderful Hopscotch pre-schoolers👶💛

Our Her Move Activities Club, made up of Year 9 and 10 wahine, was fortunate enough to receive funding to connect with the community this year. Our wonderful group chose Hopscotch Early Learning Centre and Preschool as the other place they wanted to connect with.

We brainstormed, bought crafting supplies, games and activities, and over two days visited both centres to connect with the tamariki. 🎨🧩

These visits allowed for leadership, confidence building, kōrero, creative play and fun games enjoyed by both the big kids and the little kids alike. In the final episode of our community connection programme it is so special to share these wonderful experiences with this community 💛🖤

The Her Move Activities Club, made up of our amazing Ōtorohanga College Year 9 and 10 wahine, was lucky enough to receive funding to connect with the community this year. Our wonderful group chose Beattie Home & Hospital as one of the places they wanted to connect with 💫

We brainstormed, bought crafting supplies, games and activities and took them down the road to share with our Beattie Home whānau.

It was an amazing time of kōrero, laughs, stories and building relationships. Moments like these are what community is all about 🙌
