⚾ Teeball & Softball – 2026/27 Season
Kia ora whānau,

Manawatū Softball Association is on a mission to get more tamariki playing Teeball and Softball. Participation in junior sports has dropped in recent years, and they would love to help get more children back out on the diamond.

The goal is simple – make softball fun, accessible and enjoyable for everyone!

📅 Upcoming Season Dates
Term 4, 2026 – 6 weeks
📅 Saturday 31 October – Saturday 5 December

Term 1, 2027 – 5 weeks
📅 Saturday 13 February – Saturday 13 March

⚾ U7 Teeball
Saturday mornings | 9:00–9:45am

Manawatū Softball Association is proposing to have a senior softball player at each diamond. They will run a 10-minute warm-up with the children before organising the game.

The focus for U7 is on developing correct throwing and hitting skills while keeping the sessions fun and engaging.

MSA will provide all the equipment needed, including a bat, ball and tee on every diamond, so families and schools do not need to purchase equipment.

⚾ U9 Coach Pitch
Saturday mornings | 10:00–10:45am

As with U7, a senior softball player will be available at each diamond to help with the warm-up and organise the game.

The focus for U9 is on positional play when fielding and learning to hit a ball that is pitched rather than hitting from a tee.

MSA will provide all equipment, including bats, balls, tees and gloves.

⚾ U11 Softball
Saturday mornings | 8:45–10:00am

If your child is interested in playing U11 Softball, please email the following information to:

📧 [email protected]

Please include:

Student's name
Year level
Classroom number
Registrations of interest need to be emailed by Thursday 10 September 2026.

This is a great opportunity for our tamariki to learn new skills, get active and enjoy being part of a team. We would love to see some of our West End students giving Teeball and Softball a go! ⚾
