Following the Flag Raising Ceremony on 11 May, a series of exhibitions were held across campus over three weeks to celebrate IPU NZ’s Foundation Day. 🎊✨
The exhibitions included a history of some of IPU NZ’s facilities and a collection of yearbooks in the Library; photos of current staff from around the time IPU NZ (formerly IPC) was founded, displayed in the Admin Foyer; and a slideshow by the Rec Centre featuring past events and activities, along with the history of Kodama, the IPU Japanese Drum Team.
In addition to these exhibitions, a special lunch was offered in the Dining Hall to mark the occasion. Students and staff enjoyed a New Zealand–Japanese-themed menu, celebrating the unique identity of IPU NZ as a Japanese-founded institution where people from around the world come together in New Zealand to learn, grow, and gain broader global perspectives. 🌏💡
This collaborative project was made possible through the efforts of representatives from each department, including the IPU Student Committee.
From then to now, thank you to everyone who has contributed to IPU NZ’s establishment and evolution since 1990. Here's to celebrating our history, cherishing our community, and looking forward to the future together. 🎉🇯🇵🇳🇿
