🎉🎉🎉 8,000 signatures - and we’re not done yet!
We've reached a huge milestone in our campaign to restore funding for Citizens Advice Bureau Wellington. Our 8,000th signatory (pictured) uses and loves the CAB service, and was very happy to add his support to the petition our.actionstation.org.nz/p/CABWellington

Every day, Wellington CABs provide free, independent and confidential advice to people navigating housing problems, employment issues, financial hardship, immigration, family challenges and much more. More than 11,000 people use Wellington CAB services each year, supported by 125 dedicated volunteers.

Despite this, Wellington City Council funding has been cut from around $240,000 to just $100,000 a year. Volunteers are the heart of CAB, but they cannot keep the service running without the staff, spaces and infrastructure needed to support them.

Now we need one final push✊

The petition will be presented to Wellington City Council on 16 September, at a Council meeting where the distribution of further community grants funding will be decided.

Temporary visas allow you to work, study or visit New Zealand for a limited amount of time. You can apply for most visas online. You can also apply for some visas using a downloadable or paper form. If you are applying online, you will need a RealMe account.

If you are from a 'visa waiver' country, you do not need to apply for a temporary visa before coming to New Zealand. But you must apply for a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before you travel. There are many different visas that let you work in New Zealand. All are temporary visas, but some can lead to residence.

✈️What you need to provide in your application:
☑️your passport, or evidence of your current visa if you have one
☑️evidence that you have enough money to stay here, or that you have a sponsor
☑️travel tickets out of New Zealand
☑️the application fee
☑️any other information you need to meet the specific requirements for the visa you are applying for. For example, you may be required to provide medical certificates, police certificates and/or evidence of a job offer

It was wonderful to be recognised at the NZ For Purpose Reporting Awards recently. Thank you to Evelyn - one of our volunteers for all the work that you put into our Annual Report.
