🏀 CHAMPIONS! 🏆

On Friday, our Year 7 & 8 Basketball Team were crowned champions after winning their division!

It was an incredibly close final, with Newbury taking the lead in the dying seconds to secure the win. What an exciting way to finish a fantastic season!

A huge congratulations to the team and a big thank you to coach Rachel for all her time and support. Well done, team! 🏀🏆

For one glorious day, your child/children can swap the classroom for the principal's office and discover what it's really like to be the boss. They'll help lead the school, make important decisions, and enjoy ultimate bragging rights at Newbury School.

Principal for the day
The Boardroom Lunch: Order lunch (pizza, subway, etc.) and invite two friends to eat with them in the office.
Staff Room Access: Receive a "Golden Ticket" to the teacher’s lounge for a hot choccy or a snack from the "secret" stash.
Make a small school rule for the day (e.g., extra value tokens, hat day, or bonus play time)
Choose the theme of the day (sports, superheroes, pyjamas, colours)
Help decide a lunchtime activity or playground game
Pick the song for assembly or end-of-day music
Wear the principal’s lanyard
Make a morning announcement over the intercom
Greet students at the gate
Classroom Inspections: Visit classrooms to catch students (and teachers!) working hard and showing DRIVE.
Hand out “caught being kind” certificates
Write thank-you notes to teachers, office staff, or caretakers
Casual or crazy hair/hats allowed (with approval)
Read a story to younger students
Have an official photo taken for the school newsletter
