Tonight we had a games night with Bunnythorpe Volunteer Fire Brigade, we played a mixture of pool, bowls and darts and they won the trophy tonight but we will see you in September for the next round

This morning our crew was called out to support the Palmerston North Fire Brigade at a large fire near the railway station. With the Capital Comnection about to depart and rubbish truck crews getting ready to clean up our city, traffic management was a critical element that we were tasked with to ensure our community and Fire fighters stayed safe. Congratulations to one of our recruits, Paul, who turned out to his first fire!

This morning our crew attended the call along side the career firefighters as we provided road closures for them and helped with rolling up hoses as well

As part of continuous improvement, last night Ops Support learned the functions of USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) and what role our team contribute to National and International emergency management. This includes Tsunami's, Cyclones, Earthquakes, Landslides and Search & Rescue. Thanks Palmerston North Fire Brigade Blue Watch for taking the time to explain how we can can assist USAR in a large scale emergency

We had one of our members go and have a look it, it was a good experience to see what was out at the airport
