New Zealand Blue Light is a registered charity and community policing youth program that for over 30 years has run programs and activities for young people throughout New Zealand free from drugs, alcohol and violence. Blue Light works closely with the New Zealand Police to:

- Reduce youth crime

- Build community partnerships

- Build young peoples self esteem

- Enhance community safety

- Build

positive youth and police partnerships


Blue Light aims to reduce young people becoming an offender or victim of crime and to build better relations between the police, young people, their parents and the community. Blue Light encourages safe and healthy socialisation for young people with all Blue Light events being alcohol, drug and violence free; in today’s society who else can guarantee this and that is why parents and the community totally trust and support Blue Light activities for their children.

As Papakura Franklin Blue Light looks to the future, it is time for a transition in our governance.
After 6 years serving as Chairperson, today I have made the decision to step down.
It has been an absolute honour to lead this branch, witness the incredible growth of local & national youth programmes, & to work alongside such a dedicated committee.
While stepping back, my commitment to Blue Light and our community remains as strong as ever.

To ensure our momentum continues without missing a beat, two exceptional individuals will take the reins as Co-Chairs: Turei Marshall & Courtney Clarke.

This shared leadership model is an exciting step forward for our organisation. By pairing their unique strengths, fresh perspectives & combined energy.
I am entirely confident that Turei & Courtney will provide the collaborative, forward-thinking governance needed to take Papakura Franklin Blue Light into its next successful chapter.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my tenure as Chair. I look forward to supporting our new leadership & seeing the impact we will continue to make together!
