🌱 Trees 4 Survival Planting Day!🌿

What a fantastic day of getting our hands dirty and giving back to our environment! 🌳💚

Yesterday more than 900 native seedlings were planted by 25 students including our Community Leaders, Leo's and our Envirogroup, making a fantastic contribution to restoring and protecting our local environment.

A huge thank you to Trees 4 Survival and Tauranga City Council for facilitating the planting event and sharing their knowledge with our students. 👏

Thank you also to Teachers Cheryl Jensen and Lian Soh for supporting our students throughout the day.

Ka pai, team! Your hard work today will make a difference for years to come. 🌱🌏💚

🎤🌟 Year 7 and 8 Speech Finals 2026 🌟🎤

Ka rawe to our Year 7 and 8 speech finalists who did an exceptional job presenting at our Speech Finals! 👏

The quality of the speeches was incredibly high, and our invited judges were thoroughly impressed by the confidence, creativity and thoughtfulness shown by all of our speakers. We are extremely proud of every student who took to the stage. 💙

♟️ CHECKMATE! PĀPĀMOA COLLEGE KNIGHTS THE BOARD AT TAURANGA CHESS REGIONALS! 🏆

What a fantastic result for our Pāpāmoa College chess players at the recent Tauranga Chess Regionals! ♟️

🥇 INTERMEDIATE TEAM – 1ST PLACE!

Our Intermediate players delivered an outstanding performance, battling through tough rounds against strong competition from across the region. Their strategy, patience and tactical thinking paid off, with the top four scores combining to secure 1st Place overall and the Gold medals! 🏆

This brilliant result also earns our Intermediate team direct entry to the NZ Chess Nationals later this year! 🇳🇿♟️

🎓 SENIOR TEAM – NATIONAL QUALIFIERS!

Our Senior players were also impressive throughout the tournament, competing in a fiercely competitive division and producing some excellent performances. While they narrowly missed the top spots, their strong overall result was enough to qualify for the NZ Chess Nationals! 👏

With both our Intermediate and Senior teams heading to Nationals, Pāpāmoa College will have a formidable presence on the national chess stage! ♟️🔥

Good luck to our First XV Rugby Boys, who are competing in the Rugby By The Beach Tournament, kicking off here tomorrow!

The games are:

🏉 Wednesday 2 September
10:30am Pāpāmoa College v Te Puke
2:00pm Pāpāmoa College v Te Awamutu

🏉 Thursday 3 September
9:00am Pāpāmoa College v One Tree Hill
1:00pm Pāpāmoa College v Mahurangi

We’d love to see plenty of Pāpāmoa supporters there to cheer our boys on from the sideline! 📣🙌 Please note, there is no parking available on-site, All supporters are welcome but must enter via the main school driveway and remain at the contest site and not within the general school population area.

Can’t make it to the games? Both matches will also be live streamed on the Rugby By The Beach page, so you can still get behind the team from home.

💜✨ NEON DISCO FUN! ✨💚

Last Thursday, our Year 7 and 8 students had a blast at the Neon Disco! 🪩🎶 From glowing outfits to plenty of dancing and fun, it was a fantastic night!

A big thank you to Let’s Take a Selfie Photo Booth NZ for bringing along a photo booth to capture some awesome memories! 📸✨
