We had some amazing achievements to celebrate at our last Hui for Term 3. Congratulations to all of our students who received certificates but I want to acknowledge our Year 5 & 6 students who gained an Achieved in English, Maths and Science in the University of Canterbury exams. We also received two Merits in English, an excellent result for Avian and Billie. Our Principal wheel was spun, well done Margot and Bailey, who are our Principals of the Day for Term 3.

Duffy Role Model - Nua Finau
We were delighted to welcome Nua Finau to Paparoa School as the presenter of our Duffy Hui. Nua is an actor, writer and producer who helps bring Polynesian stories to the screen. His work includes the film Red, White & Brass, Small Blacks TV and the latest 'Jonah' documentary.
Nua spoke with confidence and enthusiasm, celebrating the joy of reading and reminding our tamariki that reading opens doors. Through books, we can discover new ideas, explore different worlds and imagine what we might achieve. Thank you, Nua, for sharing your time and inspiring our young readers.
Duffy Books in Homes in such an amazing initiative which our tamariki are very lucky to be a part of. I also want to acknowledge our school sponsors: Carl & Amanda Millar and MT Farms (Pahi), who enable our students select 8 books per year to take home to read.

A reminder that today is the last day of Term 3 for our Kura as we have Teacher Only Day tomorrow. We have our last Hui this afternoon at 1.45pm with a lot of celebrating to do!

A big shout out to Kidscan for our jackets. Amazing quality, the kids love them. Definitely room to move, they will be great for winter next year.

Last Friday we had our Week 6 Hui with Room 3 sharing some fantastic writing. We welcomed two new five year olds and handed out our school cross country certificates. Congratulations to all our tamariki for well-deserved achievements. We also had our first environmental session for the term, Silverbeet & cheese crustless quiche with Lemon & Poppy Seed muffins on the menu.

On Wednesday afternoon's we have Circus Kumarani visiting our school, teaching our tamariki how to use different equipment. These activities promote fine motor skills, balancing, coordination and a whole lot of fun!! A huge thank you to Circus Kumarani for bringing so much energy, fun, and new skills to our tamariki! 🎪✨"

Thank you to all who attended our annual Cross Country, it was a beautiful day. To all of our tamariki who put all their effort into getting to the finish line, Ka mau te wehi! A lot of our students have been away with winter illnesses and so completing the run with little practise was showing our school value, Resilience. Well done to all!

Wow what an epic show! This years Wearable Art Show 'Page to Parade' definitely made us proud with the amazing costumes created by our tamariki. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers for working tirelessly to put this show together and support our tamariki in their technology learning. The hall was transformed into a fairytale and nursery rhyme storybook for one day only and it was a reminder of the infinite potential we have in our school and the creativity that is shown when our tamariki get to dream big!
