Celebrating International Nurses Day 🎉

Today we're sending a big thank you to all the nurses that are part of our organisation, including the Whakarongorau Aotearoa nurses who work in our Clinical Hub. Every day, they help provide expert support for lower acuity 111 calls so that people can get the right care.

We also want to recognise all the hospital and medical facility nurses across Aotearoa who work alongside us every day, especially during patient handovers. Your care, skill, and dedication make a real difference.

Thank you for everything you do 💛

Motorcyclists Unite in Rawene to Support a Worthy Cause

Under bright and sunny skies on Saturday, May 3, 2025, around 50 motorcyclists gathered at the Hato Hone St John Rawene Station for the Ulysses Far North Hato Hone St John ride. This event was part of a nationwide fundraising initiative organized by the Ulysses Motorcycle Club to support Hato Hone St John, with similar rides taking place across the country around Anzac Day.

Many riders set off from Whangārei, while others joined the journey from Kaitaia. Upon arriving in Rawene, they were warmly welcomed by the South Hokianga Area Committee, who provided a well-deserved lunch and refreshments.

In a generous show of support, the Ulysses Far North group presented a $1,500 donation to Hato Hone St John. The money, raised through a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year, will help local ambulance staff attend the national Hato Hone St John Traumed Emergency Care Conference—a key opportunity for advanced clinical training and ongoing professional development.

The visiting riders also expressed their appreciation to the Hato Hone St John team, acknowledging their dedication and valuable service to the local community.

Our goal is to collectively run, walk, cycle or swim the equivalent of 210km, why 210km? Well my friends, this distance represents the cost of one night's accommodation and staple ingredients to prepare a meal.
