Due to ongoing plumbing work, the Reefton Visitor and Service Centre remains closed this morning (Friday 16 October).

The RVSC team hopes to be up and running around noon today - an update will be provided here when the doors are open again.

Council thanks residents for their patience during this time.

15/10/26: Council wishes to advise that the Reefton Visitor and Service Centre will be closed from 2.30 pm today due to urgent and unforeseen infrastructure works needing to be done.

Investigations have identified significant blockages in the sewer pipes from nearby tree roots ad this has also affected the water supply to the building.

It is anticipated that the facility will be operational again from tomorrow (Friday 16 October) but should this not be possible, an update will be provided.

Work has commenced on the Reefton Pool today to deliver a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system (HVAC) to improve the pool’s ventilation and high humidity levels.

Lifting and placement of some of the bigger pieces of equipment began today, however the delayed delivery of the Air Handling Unit has set the scheduled completion date back by ten days.

❗ UPDATE: The Reefton Pool will now open on Sunday 15 November.

This project has been co-funded by NZ Lotteries and BDC’s Reserves Contribution Fund.
