🚨 The siren sounds a few times during July. One lucky Officer ticked us over 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ calls for the year! 2nd half of the year is fully underway with our community risk team actioning 4 home fire safety visits and installing smoke alarms and one preschool visit!

Tuesdays training had a slower pace than usual. Our Annual Mike Davies night. This is a night where we celebrate a pass member and his love for games! A night where new and past members come together and share tales over a savoury and a drink and play games. Interesting techniques were used, scores were tallied and the Trophy was awarded. Congratulations to FF Goodwin 🏆🥇

Why the siren sounded 🚒🚨

📟 Call # 177 - 10:53 - RICH331 STOK221 - roof lifting.
Two dwellings suffered damage from a mini tornado 🌪️ that came through Richmond today.
Thankfully no one was hurt and we were able to secure the roof for the occupants.

Stay safe out there in the wild weather 🌦️ ⛈️

This year has kept our crews busy, with our volunteers responding to 174 calls so far in 6 months.

Behind every one of these callouts is a team of dedicated volunteers who leave their families, workplaces, and daily lives at a moment’s notice to help keep our community safe.

Here’s to our crew of more than 11,800 volunteers serving across Aotearoa New Zealand, and to the 36 Richmond Volunteers 🙌

Our volunteers respond 24/7, 365 days of the year. We want to acknowledge what they give up to do this. Dinners are cut short, work is left for others to pick up and sometimes precious moments are missed.

🚨 The siren has been sounding quite a bit in the last few months!

We are currently sitting at 📟 1️⃣5️⃣4️⃣ calls for the year. We were lucky enough to stay mostly dry over the wet and wild weekend and quite happy to see the sun back out!
