📢 WHAKAPOUNGAKAU LANDS TRUST – TRUSTEE ELECTIONS 2025

Call for Nominations

Nominations are now open for three (3) trustee positions on the Whakapoungakau Lands Trust. We are seeking candidates with governance experience, ideally within Māori land trusts or commercial entities. The Trust manages forestry and lease operations and is actively exploring opportunities for diversification, including whānau housing.

This role requires a significant time commitment, as the Trust operates with a slim operational structure. Given the deep significance of this whenua to our hapū, trustees must maintain strong relationships within the iwi and wider whānau.

Key Dates
📅 Nominations open: Monday, 10 March 2025
📅 Nominations close: 4 PM, Friday, 4 April 2025
🗳 Voting: Takes place at the Meeting of Owners Hui at Pikirangi Marae on Sunday, 13 April 2025, closing at 12 PM.

Lodging a Nomination

✔ Candidates do not need to be registered owners but must obtain nominations from two registered owners.
✔ Each candidate must complete a nomination form and ensure it is signed by their nominators.
✔ A complete nomination must include:

- A CV (electronic format)
- A recent photo (less than 12 months old, high resolution, color)
- A short biography (200 words max)
⚠ Incomplete or incorrectly submitted nominations will not be considered.
