We were pleasantly surprised by staff and students for a belated Principal Appreciation Day yesterday! (earlier in the term we were away on the 'official day').

Cakes, treats, and beautiful cards were delivered from staff and students. Mrs Yorke and Mr Cook had the best duty ever with students across the school coming up with thank yous and kind comments.

But then... our attempts to drive home were thwarted by two classes of sneaks who managed to pinch the car keys of both the principal and deputy principal and fill their cars with balloons.

Mr Cook had a humorous visit to classes this morning telling the outrageous challenges of the balloon situation. Walking around the school I'm sure some thought he was a little bit... 'loooony'.

Trees for Survival Planting Day
What a fantastic morning we had for our Trees for Survival planting day! With lots of willing hands, we managed to plant nearly 1,000 native plants in around two hours – an amazing effort!
A huge thank you to our parent helpers who helped transport our students to and from the farm and got stuck in alongside us with the planting. Your support helped make the day such a success.
It was awesome to see the seedlings we have cared for over the past year finally planted in their new home.

Well done to both of our senior hockey teams. Both teams had a very successful end to a great season. The Goal Getters achieved overall 3rd place. With only one game loss all season.
The Strikers achieved 3rd place in their division. With lots of growth and development seen within the team.

With strong dedication and teamwork both teams should be super proud of their achievements.

Kaharoa Pest Cull 2026 - Thank you! 🙏

A huge thank you to all hunters, families, volunteers, landowners and sponsors who made this year’s Pest Cull such a success. Together we raised over $2,000 for Kaharoa School — every dollar going straight back into resources and opportunities for our students.

885 pests removed from our local environment, including 670 possums, 45 wallabies, 89 hares, 62 rabbits, 7 magpies, 4 pigs and 8 deer. That’s a massive boost for our native bush and wildlife — the possums alone would have eaten around 39 tonnes of vegetation in a year.

We loved hosting you all and can’t wait for an even bigger and better event next year. Thank you for making a real difference for our school and our environment! 💪👏

A huge effort from all runners at our Kaharoa School and Rural Inter-schools Cross Country event on Monday.

Congratulations to the students who placed in the top 6 and have qualified for the BOP Cross Country Championships in Tauranga on 30 June.
