Our Lynmore Keas, Cubs and Scouts joined in with troops from around the Volcanic Zone for Founders Day Celebrations this year. Scouts around the world celebrate Founder’s Day on February 22nd (or the surrounding weekend) to mark the joint birthday of Scouting founders Lord Robert Baden-Powell and Olave Baden-Powell. It is a global day of reflection, celebration, and renewal of the Scout Promise, emphasizing the 119 yrs of the movement's enduring values of community, adventure, and leadership. In true spirit the weekend is full of fun, adventure and skills.

Here Is a look at all the fun had at Venture 26 by the Lynmore Venturers 15-18yrs of age. They headed down to Wellington and beyond for 10 days of action and adventure. Held every three years, venture brings together over a 1000 youth from NZ, Australia and the Pacific.

A shout out to and big thanks to Volcanic Air for donating their time to inspire our Lynmore Scouts late last year with a visit to see their Helicopters, Boat Planes and Hangers. Part of being a scout is the opportunity to participate in Air Scout skills and development if youth are keen to experience Flying. With National Flight Skill Camps and Air Activity Badges. Venture 26 is just around the corner for many of our Lynmore Venturers this coming summer break!

Held every three years, this exciting event brings together Venturers from across New Zealand and Australia and further afield.

Travelling independently to Wellington, participants will then head out across the upper South Island and lower North Island on a five-day expedition, taking part in a wide range of chosen activities including:

After their expeditions, Venturers will come together for four days of camping at Brookfield in Wellington — a chance to share stories, build friendships, and celebrate their achievements.

A huge thank you to all the organisations that have supported our fundraising efforts — from event marshalling and race day parking to generous contributions from Pub Charity. Your support is helping make this life-changing experience possible.

Venture 26 is more than just an adventure — it’s about empowering young people through challenge, connection, and growth to be ready for life.

A quick look back at Term 2, 2025 for our Scouts Section at Lynmore. The Scout Section provides the opportunity for our scouts to test their limits and start to learn how to take the lead in their adventures as they learn valuable life skills like leadership, responsibility, and confidence.

Our scouts were out adventuring in Term 1, 2025. This term has seen the creation of our Venturers unit at Lynmore as our older scouts stepped up to create their next part of their scouting journey here at Lynmore. We endeavour to empower young people through adventure and challenge to be ready for life, and our scouts were out making the most of it to kick off 2025!

A huge thank you to the Lake Ōkāreka Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Okareka Community for supporting the annual kids raft race for 2025. It was great to see the Lynmore Scouts well represented and having an absolute blast on the night. Heartfelt thanks to Telfer Marine Rotorua for the amazing prizes, and all the locals supporting out on the water.
