Treewalk Management
CLOSED Sunday 12 April 2026 🚨
We’ve been advised by Rotorua Lakes Council that, due to Tropical Cyclone Vaianu tracking toward the North Island, they are considering closing the Whakarewarewa Forest on Sunday the 12th of April 2026.
If this occurs, it will impact our ability to operate as usual.
We are working closely with Council and monitoring conditions. A final decision is expected Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
While we’d love to be open for our holiday guests, safety comes first. We will only operate if conditions are safe.
Please stay tuned for updates.
