Ruakaka Racing Whangarei Racing Club The Whangarei Racing Club is best described as a Provincial Racing Club that has one of the best winter racing surfaces in New Zealand.

Ruakaka race course has a unique location on the edge of the Bream Bay coastline – hence it’s logo “where the Turf meets the Surf”. The Club has a dedicated following of loyal supporters in Northland and a reputation for being friendly and hospitable.

Is your submission ready?

NZTR has proposed a number of initiatives for 2022 and general plans about what venues will be supported into the future with significant capital upgrading at several venues. Not sure the plan solves the over capitalisation and under-utilisation that was the basis of closing several of the small clubs/venues.

It appears that the Australian hierarchy of metropolitan, provincial and community clubs’ classifications will be adopted with stakes levels following that tiered approach.
