An interesting photo showing the old Locomotive shed at the eastern end of the Springfield Loco Depot.
This shed has since been demolished, but the pits from the shed and the ash pits which extended out ahead of the doors remain on site and have been uncovered with the intention of being incorporated into a future building.

Sad to see the passing of a Pleasant Point stalwart Bill Nobles.

In a fitting tribute, a long-time Pleasant Point Museum and Railway volunteer has been farewelled with a final train ride before his ashes were scattered on the line he worked hard to preserve.

It is with a sad heart we have been advised the passing of Mike Anderson at the young age of 52 after a short illness. Mike was a founding member of the Diesel Traction Group served on the FRONZ exec and recently was Chairman of the Heritage Technical Committee. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and his Diesel Traction Group Family.

On Sunday the 1st we held a working bee on site at Springfield. From a small turn out we were able to achieve quite a bit.
The vegetation control program continued with spraying of the tracks of the triangle in preparation for ballasting.
At the other end of the site we began cleaning and repainting the ballast wagons. One side of the Yc was sanded and prepared, then painted in "Delicious Red" rust kill paint. These wagons will be hard to miss when completed.

Finally some visual progress for you all.

Our sincerest condolences to his family to this time of loss.
