Uncle Gilbert's Bach

Uncle Gilbert's Bach With panoramic views over the harbour & out to sea this family bach makes for a perfect get away.

This is a family bach that has been passed down through the generations. Uncle Gilbert's bach is one of the first houses on Paku Hill being built by Uncle Gilbert Flavell who is no longer with us, but his memory lives on in the bach with much of his travel memorabilia still decorating the walls. There are two bedrooms, main room- queen bed and second room- bunk beds & a single bed. The Captain's C

abin has a fold down couch and there are plenty of extra mattresses or room on the grass for pitching tents for all the family and friends.

We love hearing the kiwi call on Paku Hill & it’s so special to know they are also along the sand dunes in Tairua

We have had reports of Kiwi being heard at night on Ocean Beach, in the sandhills. This is very special and very exciting.
So a reminder to make sure your dog is inside, or you know where it is from dusk till dawn, as dogs are adult Kiwis only predator. Even a small dog just mouthing a Kiwi can crush its chest.
Thanks for your support, and if you live around there you may be lucky enough to hear them calling.
