The silence of teenagers can be brutal. I refer to it as the loud silence because it feels so loud, so blaring in its absence. Sometimes the silence hurts. It cuts so deep. It doesn't let us know if we're making a difference or all of it. It doesn't tell us we're important or that we're needed. The....

It’s on! The first edition of The Mount Surf Festival 🙌🏼

This event is set to be a much bigger and better one that we could ever have imagined, and we cannot wait to see you all at Mount Drury on Saturday 27 February! 🌞

We’ve got yum food and drink, a group of ten insanely talented shapers and their boards, a full marketplace of curated brands we love and know you will too, and artwork and photography from some seriously skilled creatives. Plus so much more that we just haven’t got round to announcing yet!

Huge thanks to everyone that’s believed in, helped and supported us to produce this event so far, we couldn’t have done it without you 💛 and of course big thanks for this insane poster too⚡️

UPDATE: Hi team, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Although the Rugby World Cup semi-final and final games are free-to-air we are unable to screen them at Event Cinemas due to the licensing rights between Spark and World Rugby which limits the size of the screen the games are allowed to be shown on. We were initially given the green light, but the light changed colour before we got to kick-off! 🏉 We’re very disappointed but the silver lining is that Event have now tested streaming and we look forward to bringing you other international screenings in the future.

In the meantime, if you’d still like to head out and watch the games, Something & Social and The Millhouse will be screening both semi-final and final Rugby World Cup games. Our sincerest apologies- GO THE ALL BLACKS!

ORIGINAL: You voted… ‘YEAH!’ to seeing the RWC Final on the big screen at Event Cinemas! Since there was such a big response to the poll, we’ve decided to screen both semi-final games this weekend as well! And because we ❤️ our Facebook fans, we’ve organised the hire of the Vmax cinema, so the event is FREE! Here’s how to get tickets:
🏉 Tickets will be available for collection from our Information Desk tomorrow, 12pm Wednesday 23 October.
🏉 Each person can collect 1 double pass (per semi-final game). Seats will be assigned.
🏉 As the event is free, it is first in first served.
🏉 Event Cinemas is a fully catered venue: no BYO food or drink. Their licensed bar will be available on game nights until half-time. The eateries at The Observatory are open until 9pm every night too!
🏉 There will be a bag check on entry.
🏉 Last but not least, enjoy the game!!! (and go the All Blacks!)
