🏀 What a week for our Te Manawa team!

Last week, our incredible athletes headed over to Tauranga Boys' College to compete in the Bay of Plenty Special Olympics Basketball event—and they brought pure energy to the court!

From spectacular teamwork and non-stop hustle to endless smiles, our team gave it their absolute all. We couldn't be prouder of the determination, sportsmanship, and heart everyone showed representing Te Manawa.

A massive shoutout and thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and supporters who made this amazing day possible for our community! 🙌💙

What an incredible turnout for our annual Green Gala! 🌿🍩

Last Friday, the area outside Pūwhenua was buzzing as our Kaitiakitanga Committee and Prefects hosted an amazing event focused on sustainability and environmental awareness. It was a massive day of community spirit, especially as it coincided with Daffodil Day! 🌼

Our ākonga got stuck into some awesome activities, including:

🌱 Seed planting and contributing to a beautiful flower mural.
🧠 Testing their environmental knowledge at the quiz stalls.
📚 Grabbing a new read at the Leo Club book sale.
🍩 Enjoying fresh fruit and delicious Mama’s Donuts!

It was also wonderful to see so many students picking up their pre-ordered daffodils at the Gala to support the Cancer Society. A huge shoutout to everyone who submitted their amazing artwork for the Green Poster Competition, and thank you to everyone who brought their energy (and their coins!) to support these great causes. 💚✨

A group of Year 10 and 11 Digital Innovation & Design students participated in the nationwide ShadowTech programme aimed at showing young women pathways into careers in tech.

This year we were hosted by a fantastic crew of women from Contact Energy who shared their stories, explained how renewable energy works and how tech is utilized throughout the company, and discussed the emerging, interesting world of data science and AI.

Such a great learning experience for all, and we'll be back next year!

Our ECE class went all out making these cut-out daffodils for Daffodil Day at TGC today.

Not only did they turn out amazing, but it’s awesome seeing everyone come together for such a great cause. Donations from Daffodil Day went directly to the Cancer Society. 💛🙌
