You can make a difference!

It is vitally important that the community attends the hearing that is considering the placement of 14,760m2 Cow Wintering Facility (size of 1 & 1/2 Stadiums) in the Visual Amenity Area adjacent to the Waiau River.

It's important that the community are seen to be engaged in the process and we would really appreciate your support even if it's just to pop in for a half hour.

Public opinion is important in publicly notified processes and decisions.

You can also contact local councillors over the next week such as Sarah Greaney (027 2226 634) and Rob Scott (021609567) to tell them that you oppose the proposal.

Hearing date 29th of September 2022 to be held at Te Anau Club.

To put this 14,760m2 build in to perspective, the footprint of the proposed buildings alone are:

73% larger than the Invercargill Velodrome (@ 8,500 sqm)
47% larger than the ILT Stadium (@10,000 sqm)

That's equivalent footprint to 1 & 1/2 stadiums side by side!

Add to that future amenity buildings, feed storage and a 3 million litre effluent holding facility.

Allowed footprint in this area 1,000m2 - does not comply. This is 15x the allowable size.

This area has been designated visually important. The consultants describe the effects as "minor".
