We need to fill a $30.5m gap in steady funding for financial mentors through the introduction of levies on industries and increased government contributions. We've published a paper with detailed analysis on the gap in steady funding for the essential work that financial mentors do.
You can find the paper and more information about how you can help on our FinCap website: https://lnkd.in/eyyQJ_Wc

So this was us, this time last week, on our annual KA Camp at Waihi Beach. What was to be our shortest camp in a long time turned into our longest with a hiccup or two on the way home. Despite, what ended up an 8 hr bus trip complete with being caught in the traffic of a pretty serious accident, a flat tyre followed by a flat battery we made it home from our adventure and on balance had a pretty fun time based on feedback!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to all our campers, they really were an amazing bunch and through all of this they never complained and got through smiling and laughing. Well done guys, we are super proud of you all.

To our director and leaders- Aron Tamaki-Woolly, Floyd Owen, Jordan Wellington, Brayden McCammon, Shea Redgate Joanna Sun, Luke Sun, Manaia Ngataki, Terry Ngataki and Harli Nicholas.
Without this fantastic and generous bunch of volunteers we would not be able to have a camp and definitely not have got through this one. They went above and beyond, having an extra unexpected very long day added to the itinerary they continued to put the kids first regardless of the setbacks they faced. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for what you all have done for us during our week away. So a massive THANK YOU and please know you are all very much appreciated. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—
I'd like to make a special mention to Aron, who not only single handedly ran camp but also spent hours in the lead up preparing camp lists, letters, the activities and itinerary, and so much more of the very important behind the scenes stuff. Aron, my friend we truly are blessed to have a volunteer like you who has done so much for us and camp would not have happened without all of your mahi. He also stepped up under pressure and handled everything like a pro. We are super proud and super grateful to have you as our Director.Thank you so very much.

Last but by no means least our mean kitchen crew, Sue, Michele and Kane. Ably led by Sue our kids were so well fed, and meals enjoyed that there was barely a scrap on a plate after each meal. A huge thanks to you all. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Camp is a team effort and I think we were a great team. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

Stay Safe Everyone!

According to Sorted.org.nz 72% of New Zealanders have been the target of some kind of scam, either online or by telephone. Scams are increasing in number and sophistication โ€“ itโ€™s big business.

Scammers are smart and unregulated. If one scam or tactic doesnโ€™t work, they simply change the game plan or set new rules.

Most of us can fall victim to a fraud, especially when we are going through something challenging. Some of you may have already been a victim of a scam and not even realised.

Weโ€™re all at risk. Here are our top tips to avoid being scammed. Stop and think: Is this for real?

Only click on links if youโ€™re 100% certain they are legitimate. Always check the link by hovering over address with your mouse, and the return email address, too.

Remember that banks and other companies will not ask for your passwords or personal details by email, text or phone. If you receive a request like this, delete it or hang up.

Just hang up! Cold calls with investment offers are illegal in New Zealand.

If youโ€™re suspicious of any caller, hang up and call the official number of the organisation they say they represent to check if the call was genuine.

If youโ€™re not sure who youโ€™re talking to, whether online, over the phone or at the door โ€“ end the conversation and look them up to confirm that they are who they say they are.

Make your passwords unique and hard to guess. We recommend using a password manager.

Never send money to anyone you donโ€™t know or havenโ€™t met in person.

Be suspicious when the love interest you met online wants to use your bank account for receiving and forwarding money.

Avoid giving personal details that could be used to impersonate you.

If you think you are being scammed, stop all contact and donโ€™t send further payments.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our display at the Te Awamutu Community Gala on Friday. The lollies in the jar were won by a lovely young lady who had a great strategy for counting and was only two off the actual amount. Enjoy the 158 Jelly Beans Piper ๐Ÿ˜
