Hope you all had a restful, playful and amazing school break. Our teachers have been busy planning for an exciting term ahead. Over and above our literacy and numeracy, we'll be learning about forces, motion and ancient civilizations. We've missed you and we're looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Just like that Term 1 is done πŸ‘βœ… We had Senior Leadership Camp, a visit from Sheila and Tim Gibbs with a poowhiri performance for our guests from Canada, and a school visit to the Science Road Show. While the fun didn't stop with many good days for swimming lessons (even an earthquake drill on our way to the swimming pool), we were busy learning about the different states of matter, navigating the Pacific in past and present, and the usual maths, reading and writing. Here are some snap shots of our term. Happy Easter and a wonderful Term break everyone! 🐰 🐣 πŸ₯š

On Friday afternoon, we will welcome Tim and Sheila Gibbs all the way from Canada performing The Ernestine Hatpin Show. This must be seen and heard to be believed! Their 30-45 minute set will be jam-packed with interactive songs that involve everyone. The audience will be dancing, singing, clapping and skipping.

The duo will perform at our school in the last block this Friday from around 2pm. Pre-schoolers and their whaanau are welcome to attend.

Although our senior students came back a week ago from their Senior Leadership Camp 2026, the excitement and fun of the experiences are still lingering and frequently talked about. The students had a blast as they made their way to the Bay of Plenty and settled for 3 days in Oohope. They went rock climbing, wharf jumping, paddle boarding , enjoyed night time beach challenges and walked the 4km educational Kiwi Tracker walk facilitated by the Whakataane Kiwi Trust, just to name a few of the many exciting activities covered. A huge shout out to Mrs Roberts and Sam Welch for organising and supervising this amazing opportunity.
What our senior leadership camp is about: Senior leadership camps are basically a massive level-up for students' personal skills. Instead of just sitting in a classroom, they're thrown into real-world challenges that force them to figure out how to collaborate with a team. They walk away with way more confidence, better "people skills," and the ability to actually get a group of people on the same page. Plus, it’s a great way to practise being brave in a safe environment, act as Kaitiaki and all the WAI Way values we strive for.
