We have NO power & it isn’t expected back on until 3.30. As we have no heating, security/ fire alarms or ability to cook food, school will is closing.

If you are able to collect your children please do. Phone calls home are also being made now ☺️

Buses have been contacted to collect those children 🚌

Southern Area Schools are pleased to announce that South of the South has been awarded First Place in the Cloke Clothing Competition, receiving a prize of $3000.

Our entry was submitted through the purchase of Cloke sweatshirts for the NZAST tournament.

We extend our appreciation to Cloke Clothing Ltd for their generous support and to Kea Printwear who were responsible for decorating the hoodies.

**News Flash**
Waiau Area School won 2 awards in the Whanaungatanga section at the Miharo Art Awards this evening. One for our whole school collaborative project titled ‘Korowai For Tane’ and Room 3 won an award for their pieces called ‘Pepeke Waiau’. We are so proud of our tamariki - kau mau te wehi! Special thanks to Mrs Sexton for all her input into these amazing pieces! 🤩

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences are happening next week - Tuesday 28 July and Thursday 30 July, 3:15pm to 5:30pm. Our Parent-Teacher-Students Interview Booking System is now LIVE so you can book the times you would like.

This booking system is brilliant as you can select ALL the teachers you want to see (for all of your children) at once so you can coordinate your times!
We’ve included a short video that shows how to book your interviews using the Skool Loop App if you're not sure.

IMPORTANT: There will be NO paper booking forms sent home for these Conferences. All conference times need to be booked through the Skool Loop App.

If you encounter any issues booking via the Skool Loop App please the office know. The Skool Loop app is available in both the Google Play Store and the Apple Store.
