🔥 WAIAU AREA SCHOOL IS OPENING ITS DOORS TO BRING TAKTYK® TO TUATAPERE! 🔥
On Saturday 17 October, Waiau Area School is enabling us to bring two completely free TAKTYK® Learn to Play sessions to the Tuatapere community.
This event is open to the public and is not limited to Waiau Area School students. Young people from throughout Tuatapere, Western Southland and surrounding communities are welcome to register.
There are only 10 spaces available in each session—don’t wait, book now or miss out!

📱 Registrations are open now through the CORPS® App. Search “CORPS” on the App Store or Google Play.
Young players will learn directly from the creator of TAKTYK®, battle other players and receive a free Starter Deck to take home.
No previous experience is required. We will teach every player the rules, card abilities, battle mechanics and strategies they need to begin playing confidently.
After the session, players can continue battling their friends, develop their own strategies and become active members of Southland’s growing TAKTYK® community. They will also be ready to participate in future community Battle Events where exclusive ultra-rare cards will be available.
TAKTYK® is much more than just a card game.
Every battle encourages reading comprehension, mental maths, strategic thinking, problem-solving and forward planning. It also brings young people together face-to-face, helping them communicate, build confidence, form friendships and experience a genuine sense of belonging.
These sessions give young people something they can continue enjoying long after the event has finished. Every participant leaves with the knowledge, cards and confidence needed to keep playing.
The bigger picture is equally exciting.
TAKTYK® was designed and manufactured right here in Southland. We are working to grow it into a lasting Southland-owned game, community and creative industry that can create future opportunities in illustration, storytelling, game design, manufacturing, packaging, technology, retail, events and youth employment.
Southland has always been a region of makers, innovators and exporters. There is no reason our next major homegrown success story cannot begin with a deck of cards—and the young people learning to play today could one day help shape where TAKTYK® goes next.
