Last week’s flooding was tough on everyone in our community, but sticking together and supporting each other is what we do.
Our NZRT team worked along side Upper Hutt City Council carrying out the tasks needed to help keep people safe.
This included monitoring rivers and streams, checking known flood-prone areas, and constantly tracking changing water levels as conditions shifted.
We were also out on the roads, driving affected areas where fallen trees and debris were creating hazards, clearing what we could to help keep routes safe and accessible.
It was a long and challenging few nights for many, but it also showed the strength of our community, people looking out for each other, staying patient, and working together.
We’re proud to play our part when it matters most.
