AIMS Games is nearly here!

Last night, we celebrated with all of our athletes and their whānau, recognising the hours of mahi, fundraising, and countless hours of training that have gone into preparing for this exciting event.

This year, we have 50 ākonga heading to Tauranga to compete across seven different sports. We are incredibly proud of the commitment and dedication they have shown in getting to this point.

A massive thank you to all the Primary Kura coaches and staff for their efforts and congratulations to Te Kura o Hau Karetu for taking out the tournament for 2026. It’s the first time a team has won other than OFCS.

Massive thanks to our kaiako involved today who were assisting in this opportunity, we appreciate your mahi and effort.

Today we hosted our annual Rippa Rugby Tournament that we have done for the past 3 years. It gives our students a chance to give back to their community through actively being involved.

It’s the biggest one yet with 36 teams and all games were reffed and scored by our students.

🏐 Tuakana Netball Champions!

Huge congratulations to our Tuakana Netball rōpū, who have won the McDonald Premier 1 competition, going undefeated for the entire season!

What an outstanding effort and a fantastic way to finish their final preparations for AIMS. Ka mau te wehi!

🎭 Roadshow 2026! 🎭
40-minute show. 40 ākonga. 4 schools. 1 fantastic day! ❤️

On Friday, the team hit the road at 9am, taking two dance routines and a play to four of our contributing schools. They were fantastic from the very beginning, getting better and better with every performance as they experimented with their characters, timing and comedy.

By 3pm I know they were absolutely exhausted — but they also felt like total rockstars, and they should! Very lucky to be teaching such an incredible group of hard working ākonga⭐

A huge thank you to Plateau School, Birchville School, Upper Hutt School, and Oxford Crescent School for providing such positive, enthusiastic and engaged audiences. We genuinely couldn't have asked for better groups to perform to.

It was such a great day, and I'm already excited to have a whole bunch of these ākonga joining us at MIS next year with that same energy and enthusiasm. 💙🎭👏

Korean Club Trip!

Last Wednesday, Mi Young and I took a walk down to Main Street where we visited An Nyeong Ha Se Yo! The ākonga were challenged to order their food in Korean — with some even challenging themselves to start building up their spice tolerance! 🌶️😂

We all sat down together to eat, and Mr Hayes even popped in to say hi. It was such a lovely little trip, and I was really impressed by the enthusiasm, confidence and manaaki the ākonga showed throughout.
Big thank you to Mrs Shirley who organised it all for us behind the scenes.

This wee excersion definitely got me feeling even more excited for our big adventure in just two weeks! 🇰🇷✈️
