🇵🇳 Flying High for Papua Niugini Tok Pisin Wik! 🇵🇳

We are proud to fly the Papua New Guinea flag to celebrate Papua New Guinea Pidgin Language Week! This year’s theme is "Lukautim, strongim na kirapim tokples na pasin blo tubuna" — Preserve, revitalise and promote our language and culture.

Look out for the flag flying proudly all week, for the very first time, as we learn some Tok Pisin words, music and stories. Bikpela tenkyu (a huge thank you) to everyone in our fundraising community who helped make this moment happen. ❤️🖤💛

Onesie Day 2026

Pull on your onesie and show your support for Wellington Free Ambulance this Friday, 11 September!

Onesie Day celebrates Wellington Free Ambulance being the only emergency ambulance service in Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, and the only service in the country that is free.

We think this is pretty special, so we're inviting students and staff to wear a Onesie (or Oodie) to school this Friday to join the fundraising event. Please note - this is optional.

If students bring a gold coin donation, please pop it in the silver letterbox at the office. We also have a sausage sizzle planned.

All funds raised will go directly to Wellington Free Ambulance to fund new ambulances, life-saving equipment, advanced clinical training and research, and much, much more.

Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser 🚑

Sausage Sizzle - Friday 11 September

To celebrate Onesie Day, and to raise some money for Wellington Free Ambulance, our OCS Fundraisers will be cooking up a storm at lunchtime!

For just $2.50, you can choose a Heller's pre-cooked sausage or a chicken sausage, served in class with an option of bread and sauce. We also have juice boxes available for $2.00 each.

Don’t forget to place orders through the Kindo app, before 9am on Friday. Pita Pit will be unavailable this day.

Helpers: if anyone can spare an hour or two to help out, we would be extremely grateful! Just see Tania in the Fundraising Office.

Interschool Rippa Rugby 🏉

Our students had an absolute blast soaking up the sunshine, pulling off tons of impressive rips, and showing incredible growth and teamwork in every single game. The improvement across the day was amazing to watch, and the big smiles throughout the day said it all!

A massive congratulations to our Year 5/6 Competitive team, who played their hearts out and placed 4th overall out of 14 teams, an outstanding achievement! 👏

A huge thank you to coordinators, Maidstone Intermediate for a mighty fine job. A special thanks to our wonderful parent helpers, coaches and staff - those that attended along with those who held the fort back at school! Trips like this simply couldn't happen without your support and enthusiasm.

Upper Hutt Kindergarten Visit

We hosted a lovely "First Day of Spring" visit from our friends at Upper Hutt Kindergarten. 14 tamariki walked down to join Rooms 4 and 5 for the morning.

The children loved joining jn for PMP in the hall. They climbed, jumped, rolled, crawled and hopped before joining Mrs Mac and the children for a story, a dance and a song and morning tea.

We can't wait to return to visit them all at kindergarten next week!
