Today, our wonderful Year 6 students headed over to Maidstone Intermediate for an action-packed cluster sports day, and they had an absolute blast! We also got to see a fantastic performance by the Maidstone Kapa Haka and Pasifika groups, which was a real treat.

Our students were placed into mixed teams, giving them a wonderful opportunity to team up and make new friends with Year 6 peers from all around Upper Hutt. The day was jam-packed with a huge range of exciting activities, including dodgeball, football, capture the flag, and multisport, all fueled by a delicious burger for lunch.

Unfortunately, the action ended a bit sooner than expected due to the weather, but it didn't dampen our spirits after such a lovely time experiencing sport at Maidstone. It was a thoroughly awesome day filled with teamwork, high energy, and great sportsmanship. A massive thank you to Miss McManus and Mrs K for taking our Year 6 students along and to the awesome team at Maidstone Intermediate for a fabulous day!

Basic Facts-athon Sponsorship

Testing is complete and students will be heading home today with their marked tests, ready to collect in all sponsorship and donation money. Remember we’ll have spot prizes for those returning their money on time.

Many thanks for all your support. Not only do we have lots of fundraising money rolling in, our children know more of their Maths Basic Facts than they did before we started. 😍

🌞 🏃 🏃‍♂️ Cross Country Update 🏃‍♂️ 🏃 🌞

What a wonderful autumnal afternoon at the park! As we await final results and photos, we would like to acknowledge all the people who made this event happen, starting with Upper Hutt City Council, Trentham United Harriers & Walkers and the Remutaka Harrier Club for their superb organisation and crew of volunteers for our young athletes.

Our tamariki proudly stood out in their sports tops. They each ran their hardest. Congratulations to our medal recipient, Lily, along with Noah placing in the top 10, qualifying them for the regional event later in the term. Zach, you were so very close too at #11 and we are proud of your result.

Huge thanks to Tania and Charlotte for their organisation and leadership, along with our parent helpers for jumping in to help organise shirts, gazebo etc.

Last, but not least, thank you to our whānau for their continued support and encouragement.

Flick to our OCS Sports and Physical Activity page for more details as official results come in.

🐅 Stripes in the Wild 🐯

On Wednesday, many of our staff could be spotted in stripes!

It was very exciting for the children to spot all the stripes 🐅. The Kiwi Pod spent time looking for stripes, and rounded up all the children they could find who had stripes on their shoes, socks, pants, tops or dresses.

What a fun activity! 🤩

National Young Leaders’ Day was a HUGE success and the children returned to school buzzing with excitement. The children all showed OCS star ⭐️ values and made us proud with their sensible and respectful behaviour. They enjoyed listening to motivating speakers and learning about how others have pushed through their fears.

We bought some signed copies of author Graci Kim’s books 📚 to add to our school library.

Thanks to Mrs Campbell, Miss BE and our wonderful parent helpers for making it such a successful and meaningful day.
