Trentham School

Trentham School This site is primarily for parents, staff, friends of the school and past students. Vision: To develop skills for living and tools for learning.

By being respectful, resourceful and strengthening relationships, we become a resilient community. Trentham School is a Decile 4 school in Upper Hutt, 3 kilometres from the CBD. We are a happy school with a very strong, caring ethos. We encourage and expect children to work hard and behave well and try their best, developing into independent, self confident learners. We want to give our children a

thirst for learning that continues with them throughout their future school experiences and lives. An essential ingredient for this to happen is teamwork. We view education as a joint venture, involving everyone – children, parents, staff, and the wider community. Together we can provide the best for every child. Please visit our website to find out more about our school or contact the school.

We are currently working to bring as many people as possible into H2O Xtream and would like to invite your school to take part in our H2O School Swim Challenge.

This is a fun initiative designed to encourage swimming participation while giving schools the opportunity to earn points and compete for a prize.

How it works:

Each time a child from your school attends a swim at H2O Xtream (excluding Learn to Swim lessons), they let staff know and a tally is recorded
More children attending equals more points for your school
Children can attend as many times as they want throughout the month
The school with the highest total number of student visits for the full month of June will win.
All other participating schools will be entered into a separate draw to also win a free pool session with slides, giving everyone an additional chance to win.
The winning school will receive a free-swimming session with slides at H2O Xtream which can be used this year (subject to availability on the date).

Kia ora whānau,

The Kickstart Coffee Cart will be parked outside the library tomorrow as we host a group of Principals from our cluster.

Parents and caregivers are very welcome to grab a coffee at drop-off. However, we kindly ask that you do not purchase hot drinks for children before school, as this can become difficult to manage.

Thank you for your support!

👚Pink Shirt Day 2026👚

Today Trentham School was a sea of pink as we celebrated Pink Shirt Day 2026!
It has been wonderful to see our tamariki and kaiako dressing up to support this important cause.
We loved seeing how everyone embraced wearing pink from the t-shirts, wigs, dresses, face paint, ties to the shoes!

Pink shirt day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting positive social relationships.

Pink Shirt Day – Friday 15th May

Kia ora whānau,

We have Pink Shirt Day planned for this Friday, and we don’t want this important opportunity to slip by.

Pink Shirt Day is all about kindness and standing up against bullying. All this week, we will be looking out for children who are showing kindness in the playground. Those students will be awarded a special “Being Kind” GROW ticket to recognise their positive actions.

On the Day: to add to the fun, the class with the most children dressed in pink on the day will receive a special prize!

We encourage all tamariki to come dressed in pink and join us in celebrating kindness.

Thank you for your continued support.
