Engines on Silverstream railway overbridge in 1960. The caption reads:

"Long disused fell engines at the Silverstream sidings. Dad & I were staying in Pinehaven at the time - we walked down to have a look - I couldn't play on them as the locos were covered in oil and grime. These engines used to haul trains over the Rimutaka Hill before the advent of the new tunnel in 1955."

Custom Engineering Services on 2 Miro Street, May 1990.

The firm had been started by Ian Hammond and John Picard, and provided "everything from specialised vehicle alterations through to speed and performance equipment." They were also members of the Moonshine Rod and Custom Club, and the Alexander Road drag races committee.

A very Happy Anniversary to Rutherford & Bond and King Toyota! This month marks 50 years of Toyota in Upper Hutt.

This photograph is from back in 1991, when the dealership was known as Woodings Toyota. It was featured in the July 16, 1991, edition of the Leader, advertising the new signage that had been rolled out as part of an international re-brand.
