We recently celebrated our Mayor View Fire Brigade Honours Night, where quite a number of members were recognised with Silver and/or Gold Bars for their years of dedicated service to our community.

A special congratulations goes to Firefighter of the Year, Jon Harris. Although one of the newer members of our brigade, Jon consistently gives 100% in everything he does. His dedication, work ethic, and willingness to step up make him an incredibly valued member of our team.
Congratulations Jon, and all the very best for 7-day Firefighter Course in Rotorua starting tomorrow β€” you’ll absolutely smash it!

We would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the employers of our volunteer firefighters. Their understanding, flexibility, and ongoing support in allowing members to leave work and respond to incidents plays a huge part in keeping our community safe. The commitment shown by both our firefighters and their employers does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for the role they all play in supporting our brigade.

Congratulations to our Chief Paul Tucker for the massive effort he put in to the event last weekend! Not only for the solo mission completed in an impressive 4min 22 sec time, but also with 2 fellow fire fighters, Cameron & Marty, in the relay scoring a tight 2:00:15 for their run.

On ANZAC Day, we pause to honour and remember the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country.
As firefighters, we recognise the deep connection between service, courage, and community.
We stand in remembrance of those who gave so much, and in respect of those who continue to serve today.
Lest we forget.

As we head into the Easter weekend, the start of school holidays and say goodbye to daylight saving, it’s a great time to take a few simple steps to keep your home and loved ones safe.

- Don’t forget to put your clocks back Sunday 5th
- Check and test your smoke alarms, are they working?
- Take care on the roads and be alert and keep your distance.

We wish you all a safe and enjoyable Easter long weekend with family and friends and hopefully plenty of chocolate Easter eggs!!
