Good little training session tonight. Scenario involved a person trapped under a digger, making it a technical rescue job. Due to the location having no road access, crews had to prepare all equipment that may have been needed, load it into the rescue stretcher and use the mule to transport the equipment into the scene. Crews then used our heavy-duty lifting bags to carefully lift the digger while securing it with wooden chocks and a V-strut to stabilise the machine during the extrication. Medical care was provided to the patient before they were transported using the rescue stretcher and mule. Great teamwork and valuable hands-on training for all involved.

Excellent training last night alongside our neighboring Mayor Volunteer Fire Brigade. We responded to a simulated two-storey house fire that went to a second alarm with multiple persons reported. Great, realistic practice. Grateful for the opportunity to train together. We regularly support each other as backup appliances at callouts, and sessions like this make a real difference when it counts.
