Kia ora Tukituki! My name’s Dan Scott, and I’m excited to announce that I’ve been selected as your local Labour candidate for 2026. I grew up here in Hawke’s Bay, and now work as a meteorologist, a climate justice activist, and a union delegate. I’ll be proud to represent our beautiful region and its people in Parliament as your MP. ☀️

What we have right now just doesn’t work for hardworking everyday people. Times are tough, and this Government has a policy agenda that is only designed to take New Zealand backwards and make life harder for everyday people. The cost of everything keeps going up while your pay stays the same. The Coalition are more interested in stoking division and increasing inequality than they are in ensuring that our healthcare system has enough funding or that jobs stay in our region. 👨🏻‍🦲

At the election on November 7, we need a change. In a cost-of-living crisis, we need a Government serious about raising people’s wages so that they can put healthy food on the table for their whānau. We need a Government that provides enough funding for our healthcare, our education, and our infrastructure. And after Cyclone Gabrielle, it’s especially clear that we need a Government that will take climate change seriously, so that Hawke’s Bay can continue to be a great place to live, raise a family, grow food, or start a business. 🌹

If you want a Government and a local MP that will put people first again, vote for Labour in the election this year. And if you’d like to be a part of our movement to make Hawke’s Bay a place that works for everyone again, don’t hesitate to reach out - it takes a village! ❤️
