🌟 May Tenant of the Month 🌟

This month, we are proud to celebrate Daniel from Wellington. Daniel was nominated by his Tenancy Relationship Manager, Lucy, for the exceptional pride he takes in maintaining a beautiful and well-cared-for home.

Daniel is a very talented artist from Lower Hutt, with his work featured in galleries and competitions, and he has entered the IHC Art Awards multiple times over the years, continuing to inspire us with his vibrant and expressive artwork. Pictured are some of his previous entries.

A special acknowledgement also goes to Dain, Daniel’s Support Worker, who supports him day-to-day. The strong friendship between them has had a positive impact on Daniel’s life.

Congratulations Daniel, we are very proud to name you our May Tenant of the Month!

Services like Citizens Advice Bureau NZ and the Free Public Advocacy Service are helping people across our community access support, understand their rights, and navigate challenges they may be facing.

From advocacy support and attending appointments, to guidance around housing, employment, legal matters, budgeting, and connecting with local services – these organisations provide free, confidential support for anyone who needs it.

🚸 Safer speeds are coming to school areas across Tauranga.

Tauranga City Council is introducing new 30km/h variable speed limits outside schools to help make it safer for tamariki, whānau, and the wider community during school drop-off and pick-up times.

The new variable speed limits will begin rolling out between late May and June 2026. Times will vary depending on the school zone.

Looking for free fun for the kids? 🎉 The University of Waikato Haumaru Sport & Recreation Centre is turning one and celebrating with a Community Fun Day!

There’ll be games, prizes, food trucks and plenty of action for all ages on Saturday 23 May, as Haumaru celebrates one year of hoops and volleys. 🙌

Test your speed against your mates or bounce down the inflatable slide - there’s lots of fun to be had from 10am–2pm, Saturday 23 May, at 483 Cameron Road. Save the date and see you there!
