Hauled up the slopes of Tawatawa and installed in 1981 — Yesterday we witnessed the continued history of the Pou, as the masterpiece was unveiled after being lovingly restored by whanaunga and original artist Matahi Whakataka-Brightwell and his daughter Ariki.

A privilege to share space with Ngāti Toa whānau, the Whakataka-Brightwell whānau, members of the WCC as well as many other members of our hāpori in celebrating our shared history.

Mā pango, mā whero, ka oti ai te mahi.
