Easter, April school holidays and ANZAC Day

Due to the Easter break, our last session for this term will be this Thursday 2 April. We are closed on Saturday 4 April.

Remember to come in Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday evening or Thursday morning this week to return your toys and get new toys for the school holidays. Our hours are on our website.

We'll reopen on Tuesday 21 April but will be closed again on Saturday 25 April (ANZAC Day).

Our Librarians are getting ready to welcome everyone back to the Karori Toy Library next week (after Waitangi weekend).

Our first session back will be Tuesday 10 February 2026. We're at the Karori Community Centre and you can find session times at karoritoylibrary.org.nz.

Thanks to a very generous donation from our downstairs neighbours, the St. John's Trust Op Shop we are starting the year with some awesome new toys. Come check them out!

And that's a wrap for Karori Toy Library for 2025 🎁

The Toy Library is now closed for the summer holidays, we will reopen on 10 February 2026.

Before we go, a special thank you to our 2025 funders.
Grant funding allows us to maintain a great collection of toys, a range of opening times and affordable membership fees.

Want to play all summer?

We are closed for regular lending over the school holidays but our Summer Lending fundraiser lets members borrow toys for the whole summer holidays for $5 per toy. This is great value and a vital annual fundraiser for the Karori Toy Library.

Come in before our last session on Saturday 13 December to get your summer toys.

😎 Toys borrowed before 25 November still need to be returned on time, you can't keep them for the Summer Lending period as well. This gives everyone a fair chance of borrowing our most popular toys.

🛻 Once Summer Lending starts, you can borrow as usual up to the final week we are open but if toys are not returned before the Toy Library closes for the year, Summer Lending charges will apply ($5 per toy).

🐎 We do not loan toys with more than 20 pieces during Summer Lending (e.g. puzzles, games, Duplo, Playmobil), due to the high risk of losing pieces. But you can borrow as many toys as you want.

🛴 All toys need to be stored inside overnight and cleaned before being returned. Please treat our toys with care over the holidays.

Due to the MetService red wind warning, the Karori Community Centre will be closed for the day, so we are unable to open for our usual Thursday session.

It’s no surprise that these popular shows are a hit with kids aged 3 to 6, and their toy counterparts are just as loved (and let’s be honest, pricey!).

But why buy when you can borrow?

At Karori Toy Library, we’ve got some fantastic sets featuring your children's favourite characters and vehicles—perfect for imaginative play. If you’re lucky, you might spot them on our shelves this weekend!

🎉 We're Back! Toy Library Reopens Tuesday, 11th February! 🎉

Great news! The Toy Library will be open again from Tuesday, 11th February, and we can't wait to see you all!
