🎉We’re delighted to share with you that we scooped two awards at the recent The Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) Awards for Excellence!
We won:
📞Excellence in Clinical Practice – Enhanced Virtual Care (EVC)
With thanks to our Clinical Hub team, through EVC more 111 callers receive a call back from a clinician before an ambulance is dispatched, ensuring patients get individualised care matched to their needs, often without leaving home.
🚑Excellence in Leadership – Building Wairarapa Station – Creating a Government, Community and Philanthropic Partnership
Building Wairarapa Station is a powerful example of philanthropy in action, harnessing the power of collective giving to bring this brand new ambulance station to life.
Being nominated for, and winning, these awards alongside outstanding initiatives from ambulance services across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea is a true honour.
Thank you to the staff, stakeholders, partners and communities behind these projects for your tireless dedication and commitment.
In particular, we acknowledge our Cornerstone Partner, Julie Nevett and The Lloyd Morrison Foundation, whose support over more than a decade has been transformational. Their generosity extends beyond fully funding the Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat CPR programme and an ambulance each year. Julie and the Foundation were also the first philanthropic partners to support the Build Wairarapa Station campaign, helping lay the foundations for this once-in-a-generation project.
We also extend our sincere thanks to our major Build Wairarapa Station donors, including the Fenix Foundation for the first $1 million gift, made possible through the generosity of the late Donald Jones and the trustees who continue to honour his legacy; Sir Peter Jackson and Dame Fran Walsh for the second $1 million contribution; and Eastern Central Community Trust for providing the largest grant in its history.
We're incredibly proud to be here for Greater Wellington and Wairarapa communities, and grateful to the Council of Ambulance Authorities for recognising our mahi in this way.
