Wellington City Libraries We are the Wellington City Libraries network of 12 libraries, with our central library located in the beautiful Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui.

Discover books, magazines, eLibrary, movies, music and more, all with your WCL library card. Wellington City Libraries and Community Spaces is 14 libraries and 5 community centres. Our libraries, located in Miramar, Kilbirnie, Island Bay, Newtown, Brooklyn, Wellington CBD, Wadestown, Karori, Ngaio, Khandallah, Johnsonville, and Tawa provide access to hundreds of thousands of books, magazines, CDs,

DVDs and other items. Our collections include New Zealand's first public zine library collection, music scores, vinyl, along with eBooks, eAudio, streaming movies and eMagazines. 56. Access free wifi at all our library locations. Look for WellyWiFi in the list of networks that appear when WiFi is enabled on your device.

57. Your kids can read 7 books and earn a free 333 kids pizza from Hell with the Hell Reading Challenge 2026. Ask any of our library staff for a stamp wheel and once your kid finishes reading a book they can receive a stamp on their wheel. The challenge is open to any school children, Years 1-8.

58. Find great recommendations by spotting our Librarians Choice and Readers Choice stickers on our library books and other materials. These books have been individually recommended by Librarians and your fellow library users.

59. Access Ancestry to find our about your family's past. Avaliable using public computers at any of our library branches.

60. Read graphic novels. We have a large collection of graphic novels with a wide range of styles and genres to choice from.
