Kia ora tātou! Come along to our first branch meeting for the year tonight- at 6pm, Garrett Street.

We’ve got a packed agenda, including setting goals for the year, selecting our delegates to the Candidate Conference, starting to plan our election campaign, and hearing from special guest Prageeth Jayathissa, who is presenting to us on the energy sector and decarbonisation.

New members are welcome, and we’ll be heading to Rogue and Vagabond after the meeting. Plus, as always, there’s the option to join online with Zoom! Just check your emails for the link 💚

Te Aro Greens and Lighthouse Cuba present a screening of Whetū Mārama on 11 August at 6pm. This is a beautiful film about Sir Hekenkumai and his significance in rekindling the ancestral way-finding using the stars. Book tickets for yourself or friends to help raise funds for the Party. We've selected Tamatha Paul as the Green Party candidate for Pukehīnau Lambton ward in the Wellington City Council elections in October.

Local party members made the decision at a selection meeting this afternoon.

Tamatha Paul joins Laurie Foon Councillor Paekawakawa Southern Ward, Luana Scowcroft, Robyn Parkinson for Takapū / Northern Ward and Lachlan Patterson for Wharangi/Onslow-Western Ward on the Green Party ticket for Wellington City Council.

The Greens are fielding candidates in all five of the Wellington City Council general wards this year.
