We acknowledge with great sadness the recent passing of Chief Stephen Ignacio of the Guam Police Department, and honour his life and service.

Chief Ignacio represented Guam with great distinction and was held in the highest regard by his peers across the region. His service, leadership, and commitment to our region will not be forgotten.

At this difficult time, our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Vinaka vakalevu Fiji Police Force for warmly hosting our Police Chiefs & Commissioners this week for the latest series of governance meetings, progressing key discussions that will help shape the future of regional policing.

Conversations focused on the future of PICP programmes, change management, legal identity, and key policing initiatives underway, aimed at future-proofing Pacific policing to better serve our region.

Rich and constructive discussions will help guide critical decisions ahead of the 53rd PICP Conference in August.

Inaugural North Pacific Chiefs Meeting - A Success! 🇬🇺🇲🇵🇵🇼🇫🇲🇲🇭

Chiefs from across the North Pacific - Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia - gathered in Guam for our first North Pacific sub-regional meeting.

Hosted by Chief Stephen Ignacio, the Talanoa created space for honest dialogue, shared challenges and stronger collaboration - a chance for Chiefs to connect and examine the issues shaping policing across the North Pacific.

This gathering is the first of three in‑person sub‑regional meetings under our Strategic Plan 2025–2029 and our commitment to 'Looking In' — providing dedicated spaces for Chiefs to strengthen sub‑regional unity and focus on region‑specific priorities.

It also lays the foundation for empowering Chiefs to drive tailored solutions and build more resilient sub‑regional networks.

🤝 When our sub-regions connect, our region grows stronger! Police Chiefs united for a secure Blue Pacific.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Fiji Police Force and family of Police Constable Peni Racagi.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a young officer dedicated to serving his community. Constable Racagi’s passing is felt across our entire Pacific policing family, and we stand in solidarity with Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu and the officers of the Fiji Police Force during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Constable Racagi’s loved ones, colleagues, and the Fiji Police Force.

May his service be remembered and honoured across the region.

Starting 2026 strong with Police Chiefs and Commissioners from across the Pacific 🤝

This week our Chiefs came together to advance work on the regional policing architecture, governance, and sharpening our collective response to transnational and organised crime impacting our Blue Pacific. Thank you Australian Federal Police at Pinkenba for hosting us.

On a lighter note, we were happy to help celebrate a milestone birthday with one of our members. Happy Birthday Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Commissioner Manning! there’s no better way to spend it than surrounded by Pacific colleagues and friends.

🎉 Farewell & Thank You to our Seconded Officers.

Today we bid farewell to Samoa Police Service Detective Superintendent Aldora Mamaia and Royal Canadian Mounted Police Inspector Henri (Hank) Ho as they return to their home organisations.

Since 2004, Seconded Police Officers (SPOs) have played a critical role in supporting the functions and delivery of Secretariat services to PICP’s 22 Chiefs and Commissioners, and Aldora and Hank have continued that proud tradition.

Aldora, in her six-month secondment as Programme Coordinator for the Women’s Advisory Network (WAN), has done an exceptional job reigniting the purpose and energy behind the WAN. Her leadership shone through at the 21st WAN Conference in Waitangi, and her stewardship of the WAN 2025-2029 Strategic Plan will leave a lasting legacy for women leaders across the Pacific.

Hank, in his role as Strategic Communications Advisor, was always ready to lend a hand where needed and brought a steady presence that supported the Secretariat throughout the year.

Your passion, commitment, and the positive impact you’ve both made have been nothing short of incredible. Thank you for everything, and we wish you both success and happiness in the next chapter of your respective careers and lives.

The PICP Secretariat was proud to join the PCLEC National Coordinators Forum in Guam, hosted for the first time in Micronesia.

PCLEC is a regional mechanism that helps build law enforcement capabilities in priority areas identified by Chiefs, all through a “by the Pacific, for the Pacific” approach. Established in 2020, PCLEC's vision is to be the go-to coordination mechanism for members and their partners 🤝

That's a wrap for the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) National Coordinators Forum supported by the Guam Police Department 🇬🇺

Held in Micronesia for the first time, the forum hosted 16 Pacific Island countries and showcased PCLEC's success over the first 5 years of operations before turning discussions to future direction 🤜🤛
